DIY Tips and Tricks

Kitchen Cleaning Shortcuts

Kitchen Cleaning Shortcuts is sponsored by Bounty. All opinions are 100% my own.

Hi. My name is Dinah, and I take kitchen cleaning shortcuts. Part of this post is a little embarrassing; mostly because of the BEFORE photos. Working from home is tough sometimes. I don’t have a house keeper, and now that I’m busier than ever, I rely on shortcuts like these. Bounty to the rescue! You have to try the NEW Bounty with Dawn paper towels which cuts your cleaning time significantly! It’s pretty amazing.

Kitchen Cleaning Shortcuts (2)

NEW Bounty with Dawn is a specially designed 2 in 1 cleaning product that combines an ultra-durable Bounty paper towel with the cleaning power of Dawn infused right into the towel. Bounty with Dawn will stand up to even tough messes and stays intact, like a dishcloth while cleaning. Bounty with Dawn can blast through tough grease and dried up food. Β You will notice that my BEFORE and AFTER pictures are of things that can easily be hidden but build up dirt pretty quickly! I’m so guilty of letting it get this bad!

If you’re going to be cleaning your dishes or pots/pans, simply wet it fully and clean. I tried it on the inside the microwave oven. It also worked well on the inside of my built in trash can cabinets. You can also rinse and keep cleaning. I used one sheet per item I cleaned. And don’t worry if it’s a greasy mess because Bounty with Dawn will capture the grease in a way that allows it to rinse out.

Here is the BEFORE and AFTER of my microwave.

Kitchen Cleaning Shortcuts (5)

If you’re going to be cleaning a mirror, glass cooktop, or other shiny surfaces, wet it out, wring, and rinse again. Or, leave the towel under running water for a few extra seconds and squeeze the water out thoroughly. There will still be plenty of Dawn to clean your surface and when it dries down the special formulated cleaning agents will disappear to a virtually haze free shine. I tried it on my toaster and coffee maker.

Here is the BEFORE and AFTER of the toaster.

Here is the BEFORE and AFTER of the coffee maker. So embarrassing!

Kitchen Cleaning Shortcuts (4)

Look at what came off of my coffee maker in one swipe! So gross!

Kitchen Cleaning Shortcuts (1)

I also used it on my window sills and windows in the kitchen as well as my glass cook top and the inside doors of my double oven. I also have acrylic kitchen chairs on my kitchenette table, and I cleaned both chairs with one sheet.

A few more fun facts about Bounty with Dawn paper towels:

  • A wet sheet of Bounty with Dawn paper towel produces results that are 4X cleaner than a used dishcloth.
  • Bounty’s newest product innovation is the thickest, strongest Bounty, with 70% more fibers in each sheet to absorb messes and cloth-like durability to hold up to tougher tasks.
  • When activated by water, the cleaning power of Dawn is released into the porous towel so the grease fighting suds capture the mess. Bounty’s absorbent structure holds the grease inside until it is rinsed and wrung out, which means you can use one sheet on multiple messes.

I loved it so much I created a little spot for them under my sink. I added a tension rod which was the perfect size for a roll of Bounty basic and a roll of Bounty with Dawn!

That is so cool that it has Dawn added to the Bounty paper towel! That’s a great idea! I love the tension rod under the sink too! (And my microwave is so much worse! Add that to my To Do Lost!)

love that the Dawn is worked into it- that’s what I’m using anyway!! Also, the paper towels on a tension rod is a great idea. I have my spray cleaners one one but it’s so heavy it falls down a lot… I’m going to swap things around a bit! πŸ™‚

I tried the spray cleaners too but they kept falling. Paper towels work well. Plus you can still reach underneath πŸ™‚

Great tips! One I’d add in is take the Bounty towels and turbo charge them with some industrial window cleaner (if you can get your hands on it), it’ll come in a big tub BUT it works oh so very well.

I think your work is amazing and anyone who would post negative things about all your hard work are simply jealous because they either don’t have the space or time or ambition to do it for themselves. I am pinning this to my pinterest site because one day I WILL be able to make myself a nice area like this but currently have higher priority projects that have to come first (a leaky roof needs my attention first – go figure?). The bins that you use – you don’t have to be rich to get them, I see ones like those at the Dollar Store all the time so if you spend $20 and then buy some paint you could get the same look. Your ideas are wonderful and I appreciate that you shared your process and results with us.

You can get the same results with Dawn in your sink with water. Clean with a microfiber cloth with this solution. Cleans everything in my kitchen, saves money, and eliminates need for so many cleaning products.

More throw-aways! Not for me. I always use & reuse old sox, t-shirts, etc. Much better for our earth. Less trash in landfills. Whatever paper products we use, gets composted.

Am so sad to see this product so enthusiastically embraced. Grabbing your spray cleaner of choice to use a squirt 1 or 2 for the specific job at hand (while also grabbing a sheet of paper towel) is just too darn time consuming? Really? Each individual towel is LOADED with 100s of times (at least) more Dawn than ANY single task requires. I get the same great results as yours cleaning inside my SS microwave w/Dawn’s great Direct Foam product(always@kitchen my sink for any quick mess) & 1 pc of the smaller “select a size” paper towels. Foam is a diluted (but uber-effective) version of Dawn & the dispenser can be re-filled with 1part Dawn liquid dish detergent to 4-6parts water (or to fit your need).
Anytime a manufacturer pre-determines a std amount of soap we need, you can bet they’re eager to sell us WAY more than we truly need. Works better for them that way.

I have been using paper towels and Dow Foam bathroom cleaner as my method of cleaning just about everything for YEARS! I hate rinsing out towels over and over to clean….. dirt, hair, crumbs, etc. YUK! Spray the surface with Dow, let it set a minute to melt the dirt and germs, than wipe it up and throw it all in the trash. I even use Dow to clean my silk flowers….spray evenly, let the dirt and dust melt off, then rinse gently…no rubbing, under warm water and let them dry on a towel with a table fan blowing gently on them…they look like new. Although I will never give up my Dow for certain things, I can’t wait to try these new Bounty dampened and ready to go!

Phyl, You are so right! In this day and age, we need to make the environment the priority, not convenience. I haven’t used paper towels for over ten years. I use cloth kitchen towels. It’s cheaper too.

Looked at the picture of your MW. Lots of splashed dirt. Like i said clean you keep. Here is a good use for a paper towel. Every time you use the MW cover the food with a paper towel that way it dont get dirty in the first place. Been done in this house for 25 years and the MW still looks like new.
