Summertime Ice Cream Party DIY Ideas
My best friend from Simply Creative Ways and I threw a fun end of school year ice cream party for the kids and parents in their preschool class. It was simple, no stress, and casual… a great way for both the parents to connect and the kids to play together outside of school. I made these ice cream invitations for the party and passed them out a week before school let out.
I made some fun ice cream cone banners out of real sugar cones and ice cream cones and water balloons (check out the tutorial).
We even used two of them as table centerpieces, using tape on the bottoms to keep them upright.
Jenny had a great idea of using lanterns as ice cream, and made paper cones which we hot glued on.
What’s an ice cream party without an ice cream bar? I made a simple ice cream parlor sign the night before.
Jenny had the ingenious idea of repurposing a candle holder into a waffle cone holder. She punched holes in cardstock, and hot glued it to the candle holder. The cones fit right in and we filled them with ice cream toppings.
We also had chocolate, strawberry, and caramel syrups available, and I made little “happy summer” party favors for the kids to take home.
It was such a fun time for both the parents and adults. Since our kids will probably remain in school together for several years, we exchanged emails and phone numbers as well.
Super cute party Dinah! I know my boys would love to have a party like this one. And so would I! Who doesn’t love ice cream?!
Thank you Sharon! Super easy and done in a jiffy!
