Laundry Tips for Cleaning with Vinegar

This post, Laundry Tips for Cleaning with Vinegar, was created in connection with my agreement as a contributor to the Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar. All opinions are 100% my own.

I love using vinegar to clean because it is all natural. I’ve used it for years. I use it to clean my shower and sinks, to wipe off dirt on my baseboards, to clean up pet messes, and I use it in the laundry as well. It wasn’t until recently, however that I was introduced to Four Monks Vinegar. It is an all-purpose cleaning vinegar that is non-toxic and eco-friendly. I have found that I like it better than white vinegar because it has the power of vinegar but it is aroma controlled to reduce the harsh vinegar scent. Today I wanted to share a few cleaning tips on how I use Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar for my laundry.

Laundry Tips for Cleaning with Vinegar

Tip #1: Spray Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar on your white towels before washing them in the washing machine.

One of the things I splurged on for our home (after using coupons and gift cards of course) was white Egyptian cotton towels. I think white looks so fresh and clean in the bathroom. BUT what I did not anticipate is that you can see every spec of dirt on those white towels! Gross! Vinegar will help get that dirt off so my towels stay white and bright.

Instructions: Spray Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar on the soiled area of your towels. Wash your towels in a normal cycle with detergent.

Tip #2: Use Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar to brighten old dish towels.

I teased my husband when I first met him because he had fancy brand named dish towels at his bachelor pad. Later, I learned that his mother bought them for him! Five years later, we still use those towels because I love them. We use vinegar to keep them like new.

Instructions: Boil a large pot of water and add one cup of Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar. Drop in your dishcloths using a wooden spoon to ensure they are covered. Turn off the burner and allow the towels to soak overnight. The next day, wash and dry the towels on a regular cycle.

Tip #3: Use Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar and baking soda in your washing machine to clean it.

One of the things I didn’t know until I was much older was that you have to clean your washing machine. I admit, I NEVER did when I was in college, I mean after all, aren’t they self-cleaning when you run a load of laundry? WRONG! You still need to get that soap scum, mold and mildew out, and clean the hoses.

Instructions: Mix a quarter cup of baking soda and a quarter cup of water together in a small bowl until combined. Pour your mixture in your dispenser and then pour one cup of Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar directly into the drum. Run one cycle at the hottest temperature.
