Today I thought I’d share some holiday Washi tape gift wrapping ideas. Office Depot and OfficeMax have an AWESOME selection of Washi tape and duct tape in several colors and patterns to choose from. It took me a while to decide on the colors and patterns I wanted, and ended up getting a mixture of black and white, gold, pink, and blue.
I knew I wanted to use brown wrapping paper to wrap my gifts. I thought the Washi tape would be a great contrast to the brown paper for small gifts I am giving to my family this year. Here are a few tips to Washi tape gift wrapping.
- When choosing colors and patterns, place all of them together in a row, and change the orders of the colors and patterns until it’s pleasing to the eye.
- I chose to limit each gift to one pattern and two or three solid colors. For some reason I’m not confident in my mixed patterned choices! Ha!
- Place the Washi tape in a weave pattern. For example, lay one horizontal, the next vertical, and keep alternating.
Here are a few pictures.
I love this type of gift wrapping because it’s simple, inexpensive, and gives your gift an extra special DIY touch.
