Border Punch Gift Wrapping Embellishments
I just got the AdvantEdge Punch System from Fiskars and I wanted to test it out. Because I’m such a craft Geek, I didn’t bother reading the directions. I know. I know. Hence, I made a couple mistakes. BUT the good news is that you will learn from them! Ha! Anyway, I decided to turn my test pieces into some pretty border punch gift wrapping embellishments.
The punch system has a variety of small and large interchangeable border punches. They both are easy to work and punch out beautifully. I tested a small size first.Â
For the small standard sized cartridges, you have to pull out the wings before you insert it into the machine.
It snaps right in to the adapter and the adapter fits snuggly into the cartridge. The large punches do not need an adapter.
As you can see, the wings slide into the machine when moved to the left.
A 12X12 piece of scrapbook paper fits and aligns easily. Push down the magnetic clamp to help hold the paper in.
As you punch, the wings help guide you to ensure that your border is continuous and perfect.
Here are a few of the punches I tested.
Aren’t the borders beautiful? They aren’t just for scrapbooking. For me, I plan on using them for gift wrapping embellishments like this as well as party décor embellishments for favor bags, decorations, and such.
I’m really excited to start another project! If there is anything you think I should try, please leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!

Thank you to Fiskars for sponsoring this post!
These are beautiful! I’ve been wondering about the punch system from Fiskars. I didn’t know much about it so this post was very helpful. I love the idea of using these embellishments on gift wrapping!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, Lisa! It’s great and fun to play around with. I think I may try the borders to wrap around some party favor boxes next!
This punch system looks neat!
