DIY Spring Bunting and Gift Box Set

krylon-mystery-box (1)

A couple months ago I had the honor of attending an exclusive FaveCrafts Networking event party at the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Mega Show . One of the brands I got to meet was Krylon. At the event, we were given a Krylon Mystery Box Challenge for CHA Spring Fling. Inside the Mystery Box were six craft items. The items were: 1) a DIY bird house, 2) a small grapevine wreath, 3) a small circular box, 4) 6 canvas pennants, 5) 6 small clothespins, and 6) 3 small corks. Our challenge was to use a minimum of four of the six elements and create a unique craft project. I decided to make a DIY Spring Bunting and Gift Box Set using the wreath, box, pennants, and clothespins.

Here are the contents of the Mystery Box.

Another part of the challenge was that we got to pick between two color pallets of Krylon spray paint to use with our project. I chose Pallet #1 which was 1) Color Master Mambo Pink, 2) Color Master Citrus Green, 3) Green Shimmer Metallic, and 4) Natural Stone in Limestone.

I decided to spray paint the inside of the box Citrus Green and the outside Natural Stone and I also spray painted the canvas pennants Mambo Pink.ย  They turned out great! I then stenciled โ€œspringโ€ onto the pennants to make a spring bunting.

Once my spring bunting was dry, I used ribbon to tie them together.

For the box, I hot glued the grapevine wreath onto the top of the lid to look like a nest and then glued Styrofoam eggs inside as well.

For the fourth element, I glued a clothespin on top to hold a little gift tag.

The banner fit nicely inside…OK so I stood it up for the picture, but it fit perfectly!
