Dollar Bin DIY Halloween Headbands
My first Halloween post of the year…woo hoo! Anyway, I’m a sucker for a good deal and every time I see these adorable glittered headbands in the dollar bins at Jo-Ann’s I snag one…or two… or three! In the past I have made a party top hat for my daughter’s fourth birthday and I have made some colorful headbands for everyday wear. This time, I thought I’d make some DIY Halloween Headbands.
Materials:
- Dollar Bin Headbands! (or any thick headband)
- Halloween Embellishments of Choice
- Felt
- Scissors
- Needle and Thread
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Glue
I picked out some fun rubber snakes, glittered spiders, and “boo” embellishments at the dollar store and the craft store.
I made a small purple felt flower (tutorial for DIY felt flowers).
I also cut out a little white ghost from felt as well.
I used hot glue to glue the flower and spider as well as the felt ghost and “boo” embellishment. For the rubber snake, I originally used hot glue, but found that it came off easily once it was dry. So, instead I used some industrial strength glue (good for rubber) to make sure it stayed on.
Here are a couple AFTER photos! Mia loved them. She put them on right away and asked me to make some for her friends. Guess I need to go back to the dollar bins again… darn it 😉
Here are some other SUPER easy hair accessories I have made in the past:
