Party Top Hat Headband DIY
My daughter turns four at the end of this month and my husband and I are taking her two best friends and her to the circus for the first time (BTW, check out the circus party favors I made). I thought it’d be fun to dress her up a little for her special day so I wanted to share and easy repurposed Party Top Hat Headband DIY that I made out of a party cup and that you can make for a costume, party hat, or just for fun!
Materials:
- Small Party Cup
- Scissors
- Circle Craft Punches
- Cardstock
- Ribbon
- Craft Flowers or Felt
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Headband
I purchased these cups for .50 for the whole pack at an after Easter sale. They were just too cute to pass up and I knew I would eventually use them for something.
I used scissors to cut it down to the size hat I wanted.
Next I cut out two circles with two craft punches. The sizes I used are 2” and 3.5”. The 2” just happen to fit the bottom of the cup perfectly.
I glued the top, rim, and ribbon band onto the cup.
Then, I had some extra felt craft flowers from my Dollar Bin Headband project I did not long ago and glued that to the hat.
Lastly, I hot glued the mini hat onto a sparkly gold dollar bin headband. Isn’t it adorable??? I can’t stand it! I may even wear this myself to the circus or even make three of them for party favors for her two best friends!
Pin Me!
Hi, these are amazing. Do you sell these? Would you be able to make these for me for my upcoming baby shower? I am doing an alice in wonderland mad hatter theme.
Please let me know!

Hi Yael! Unfortunately I don’t make and sell products, but I also threw an Alice in Wonderland baby shower. Here are some of my ideas: https://diyinspired.com/tag/alice-in-wonderland/
