Recycled Paper Dolls
This post Recycled Paper Dolls, was originally written for my other blog that I had to say farewell to, BUT I did want to share this fun kids craft that my daughter and I did together.
The other day we were in the craft room and Mia asked me if we could make dolls that look like her and her two best friends, Becca and Taylor. So, I raided the craft room and supplies (that I hoard) and we made these Recycled Toilet Paper Rolls & Ribbon Roll Dolls. We kind of just “winged it” and made them as we went. Mia had lots of ideas and instructed me on what she wanted! Here’s what you need.
Materials:
- Toilet paper or paper towel rolls
- Ribbon rolls
- Scrapbook paper
- Glue or hot glue
- Tape
- Scissors
- Paper cutter
- Various craft punches
- Yarn
- Pompoms
Instructions:
We collected out toilet paper rolls and ribbon rolls one each per doll. You can also use paper towel rolls.
Next Mia said they needed dresses to she picked out three different patterns and cut them into 4 ½” X 6 ½” pieces with a paper cutter.
We covered each roll using double sided tape.
To cover the “heads” I used a circle craft punch to cover the face.
We also used craft punches to make the eyes, nose, and mouth.
We used hot glue to glue the heads on the rolls.
We hot glued golden yarn hair per Miss Mia’s request. She said she wanted golden hair on all three of them like Rapunzel. She’s such a girly girl! Then she said they needed hats so I cut out a beret for each of them and then hot glued a pompom on top.
