Elf on the Shelf First Day Idea

Free Printable Elf on the Shelf First Day Idea Poem

Hi. I’m Dinah…and I am obsessed with the Elf on the Shelf and it’s ALMOST that time. I love making cheap and easy elf crafts and all things Elf on the Shelf. Here is a simple print and cut poem for the first day of your family tradition. For this one, include a little treat for your elf to give the kids. This marshmallow treat is a quick and easy one.

Here is what you need.

Time: 30 Minutes

Materials:

This materials list has Amazon affiliate links for recommended products I use. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

  • Three marshmallows
  • Skewer
  • Black and orange food marker
  • Fruit roll up
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Simply stack three marshmallows on the BBQ skewer.
  2. Draw the face with black and orange food markers.
  3. Add the fruit roll up scarf. I fringed the scarf ends with kitchen scissors. If desired, add a fruit roll up cone shaped hat.
  4. Print the poem below!

You can make this printable any size you wish. I layed it with green card stock and added some little pompoms to make it a little more festive.

It says:

I’m Back!

Oh how I missed you;

It’s great to be back!

I made you some treats,

A sweet little snack.

I hope you like it

It’s one of my faves.

You better be good!

You better behave!
