DIY Stenciled Coffee Cup Gift Idea

Sponsored Post: This post is sponsored by NESCAFÉ® Taster’s Choice®, but the content and opinions expresses here are my own.

A little over a month ago I accepted the Taster’s Choice Challenge and switched my coffee to NESCAFÉ® Taster’s Choice®. I didn’t know much about like that they use responsibly sourced beans and have a rigorous QC to make sure they deliver the perfect product until I checked it out.  Since I switched, it’s been great. I drink it so much right now especially when I do my craft projects. I even made a video about it! So, I thought I’d share a fun DIY stenciled coffee cup gift idea with you today to hopefully inspire you to 1) take the Taster’s Choice Challenge yourself and 2) pass it on!

Check out my cute one and half minute video!

This craft is so easy and very inexpensive but at the same time looks store bought and adds a personal touch to a great gift!  Here’s how you make it.

Time: 25-35 Minutes

Materials:

  • Coffee Cups
  • Stencils
  • Scissors
  • Foam Stencil Brush
  • Acrylic Craft Paint (I used Glass Chalkboard Paint)

Make sure your coffee cups are clean. If you want, you can rub the stenciling area with rubbing alcohol. These are the cups I found at Habitat for Humanity. They were only 99 cents apiece. I used Martha Stewart Crafts Chalkboard Silk Screens. They work well and make your job easy and prevent bleeding. Use a spouncer brush to apply a small amount of paint in an up and down motion. You can remove the stencil immediately. One coat works fine. Check the directions on the paint for drying times. For this paint, it needs 4 days to cure. Even better, once the paint cures completely in about 21 days, you can wash these cups in the top rack of your dishwasher. It works great! I tried it!

I wrapped them in plastic favor bags, added some burlap at the bottom and tied it with festive ribbon and a gift tag.  These are great DIY gifts for teachers, neighbors, coaches, and friends.

So now that you have a craft to make while you are drinking NESCAFÉ® Taster’s Choice®, I would love you to pass it on!  To encourage you I am giving away 10 jars of coffee for free!

Good luck! I enjoy my mornings (and afternoons and evenings… LOL) with NESCAFÉ® Taster’s Choice®. I didn’t realize it all started with Brazil asking to make an instant coffee and that it was the first coffee to make it to the moon . Pretty awesome

Hi Dinah! I didn’t realize it is instant coffee. I use that in some of my frozen custards.
