DIY Wooden Inspirational Signs
One of my amazing friends asked me for help getting crafty with her workspace at her office. She wanted something girly, shabby chic, and anthropogie-esque. She also wanted it colorful and inspiring. I immediately had several ideas in mind and couldn’t wait to get started. The first one I’m sharing with you today are some DIY Wooden Inspirational Signs I that made. These are great not only for an office, but as decorations for a bridal or baby shower, or even DIY artwork in a bedroom.
Materials:
- Wooden Plaques
- Wooden Cut Outs
- Wood pre-made words
- Craft paint
- Wood glue
- Paint brushes
- Something heavy
I found some amazing wood cut outs at Michael’s Craft Store. I chose four wooden plaques.
I also found these four pretty and intricate cut outs. I played around with them in the store, trying to figure out what looked best.
Lastly, I found these four words that I thought would be appropriate for her office (as well as another project, “The BOLD Laws” which I’ll share in a later post). I did try to get individual letters for different words but they ended up being too long for the plaque.
I played around with them and ended up arranging them like this.
I had a color pallet in mind as well and picked some fun acrylic paints at Jo-Ann’s. I chose coral, a pale yellow, white, chalky blue, and a soft green. One by one, I painted each piece.
It took less than an hour for all of them to dry. I pieced them together by applying wood glue with a paint brush and set a heavy jar on top. It dried pretty quickly. Here they are all finished!
I also made some other fun things to match for her office makeover. I can’t wait to show you the rest!
Love!!! This!!
Among all your oh so creative posts it is hard to not love them all.
