Easy DIY Personalized Pens Gift Idea
My crafty older brother gave me this idea. He was actually moving and gave me these pens. His intentions when he bought them were to make these easy DIY personalized pens as gifts. So I thought I’d do them for him! With Teacher’s Appreciation, Mother’s Day, and Father’s day all just right around the corner these would make a fun craft idea and accessory for a set of note cards or stationary, and would even make a cute party favor.
You only need three items:
There are several types of clear pens available. These are very easy to open, fill, and close.
I chose a few patterns and colors of ribbon. There are so many fun ones available these days. I also chose a 5/8” thick ribbon. It does not reach completely around on this particular pen; however I adjusted it so that the gap was aligned with the writing on the pen for a clean look.
Simply disassemble the pen and insert the ribbon. Cut it at the desired length and put it back together.
I even use rhinestone ribbon for one. This ribbon has two small rows of rhinestones and it fit perfectly into the pen. It’s a trial and error process. You have to test out various thicknesses to make sure both the rhinestones and pen will fit.
The more colorful the pattern the better so that your pen stands out! I hope you give it a try. It’s such an easy way to dress up an ordinary clear pen and give it away as a small gift. For Teacher Appreciation coming up, give these pens away along with this homemade bookmark and this homemade bookmark!
Thanks for this helpful information about the pens. I plan to use it for an upcoming women’s conferance.
