Minion Luau Birthday Party

Mia is seven!!! Ack! I can’t believe it. She seems so grown up. In honor of her big day, we had a Minion luau birthday party for her. It was a pool party at our home. I have to mentioned that I screwed up on photo taking! I got a new camera and my settings were all off, so almost ALL of the photos I took are ruined, and I didn’t notice it until after the party of course. UGH!

So, what you see here is a compelation of photos from my phone and past blog posts. I’m so bummed.  I DID however get a little bit of video, so here is one I made, again from my phone…

The dance party was Mia’s idea. Ha! I did a lot of tutorials and made printables for the party, so here are some resources if you are considering throwing your own Minion Luau!

DIY Cardboard Minions

The cardboard Minions were everybody’s favorite. You can see how I made them here: DIY Cardboard Minions.

Photo Booth

The photo booth was a hit. I bought the background for $6.00 at a party store and taped it to a large piece of corrugated board. I cut slits and then used zip ties to tie them onto my fence.  For the photo booth props, I also did a video and craft tutorial that you can find here: Minion Party Photo Booth Props.

This is a wood aged sign I made to put by the food table. We served spare ribs, teriyaki chicken, rice, potato salad, masubi, fruit, Hawaiian rolls, and more! You can get the tutorial for how to make your own wood burned signs here.

Free Printables

I also made printables for the food table.  These are on HP (I write there!).  You can get these here: Luau Party Printables.

Centerpieces

The centerpieces were cheap and easy! I plopped a pineapple down and bought palm leaves, Hawaiian leis, and plastic hibiscus flowers from amazon. Those are my affiliate links.

The Minion Luau Cake

My friend made Mia’s fabulous cake.  I bought this Hawaiian Minion figurine to place on top.

Lastly, for party favors I bought coconut drinking cups and put candy inside. I made this Thanks a Minion printable and tied it on with ribbon.

That’s it! I hope you like it!  I so bummed about the photos, but at least I got some!
