Monogrammed Birthday Party Centerpieces
It was my best friend’s 40th birthday last month. Her husband arranged a dinner at her favorite sushi restaurant for her and about 30 people. I wanted to make it extra special for her, so I made some simple centerpieces, gold party favors, and decorations that I wanted to share. Today I have a simple how to on making these monogrammed birthday party centerpieces made with cardboard and wooden letters I found at the craft store.
Cardboard Monogrammed Letters
Time: 20-30 Minutes
Materials:
- Cardboard Letters
- Scrapbook Paper
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Glue
I found thee boring plain white cardboard letters at Michael’s. To fit the party colors, I grabbed some pastel and gold scrapbook paper to cover them.
I simply traced and cut out the letter.
I used double sided tape to adhere it on both sides.
Here are a few pictures.
I also wanted to put flowers on the table, so I potted some snapdragons and made some wooden letters on a skewer to place in each pot. I found these small bowls. My friend and her daughters could replant the snapdragons in her garden after the party.
Wooden Monogrammed Letters
Time: 20-30 Minutes
Materials:
- Wooden letters
- Skewers
- Scrapbook paper
- Hot glue and glue gun
- Glue or Mod Podge
- Foam Brush
- Scissors
These are the wooden letters I found. They run about $.50 apiece.
I traced and cut out each J for both sides of the letters.
I used Mod Podge to adhere the letter to the front of the J.
For the back, I glued a skewer to the bottom. I glued the scrapbook paper on top.
Lastly, I stick them in each potted plant.
Here are some more after photos of both projects.
