Repurposed Bed Springs and Chair Springs
Creative Repurposed Bed Springs and Chair Springs Ideas
I have been on a roll with the antique and flea market shopping. I recently shared some flea market style ideas and some repurposed lighting ideas inspired by these shopping trips. Well, I posted a picture of the bedsprings I bought at the flea market on Instagram and Facebook. I tried to think of some ideas, plus searched the web for some other great ones, so here is a fun round up of repurposed bed springs and chair springs.
My initial inspiration were these strand of lights I saw antique shopping. This would be an interesting addition to an outdoor seating area or She Shed.
Here is a DIY Bed Springs Photo Holder by Four Corners Design. Attach them to a piece of wood and use it for photos, mail sorting, or recipes.
You can also print out small pictures and use mini clothespins to attach pictures as well. Use this as a wedding centerpiece with photos of the bride and groom, or a baby shower with the mom-to-be’s pregnancy photos.
This is an Antique Chair Spring Candle Holder from Noodle and Lou Vintage on Etsy.
Votive candle holders fit well in them too.
I thought this Flower Holder by Sissie’s Shabby Cottage was a cute idea. This is another great idea for wedding, bridal, or baby shower centerpieces.
You can also fill a tall shot glass with water and make a bud vase.
Here is a unique Bed Spring Utensil Holder from Junkologie.
This Spring Wreath from Beyond the Picket Fence is a great idea.
You can turn the spring sideways and use it for desktop organization.
You can also use it sideways in the kitchen as a recipe card holder.
This is a neat idea… a Chair Spring Garden Art from Apartment Therapy.
Lastly, how about this Wall Décor idea from The Backyard Bungalow? It’s a cute idea for spring time!
Last summer, I had my way with an Old, Old Bed spring! Hubby thought that my “Butter had just slipped off my Toast” when he saw me cutting all 60 Coils from a single bed spring!!! I just set them on the grass and sprayed them either Green, Red, Silver, or Gold. Then I strung tiny beads on some fine wire and wrapped them around each spring – from top to bottom…like strings of lights on a Christmas Tree. Then I didn’t look like a Hanyak!
Ha! That’s a great idea! I’d love to see a picture!!
I acquired some bed springs and made some snowmen and some Christmas trees. They all turned out okay and sold pretty good. I have 70 springs now looking for a new project for them. I have made some nests with them & some floral vases but need more ideas.
A wreath!
Great idea!
I have some zig zag Springs from a couch I was wondering what I could possibly make with them they look really cool I just don’t have any ideas
Those a cool. What about attaching the ends to a board and using one for photos, as a mail sorter, or Christmas Cards?
I’ve hung some on decorative backboards and made removable flower vases for live or artificial flowers.
Hi Tammy! Maybe you can hang the shelf next to the mirror and a small piece of art above the shelf to create a vignette. The rule of thumb for vignettes is the “rule of 3” so I think the 1) mirror, 2 art, and 3) shelf would look great together.
