Dollar Tree Challenge DIY Picture Frames
3 Unique DIY Picture Frames Made for Less Than $5
We have our third episode of our Wulf Family Dollar Tree Challenge! Today’s theme is DIY Picture Frames. As usual, we had no idea what we would find, but the three of us (Mia, Nala, and Dinah) had $5.00 to spend to make our own unique frames. If you missed our first two episodes, keep scrolling because I added them below.
$5 Dollar Tree Challenge Episode 3: DIY Picture Frames
Nala’s (age 4) Picture Frame
Total Spent: $3.50
What She Bought
- Frame
- Gift Bag
- Greeting Card
- Glue
What Nala Made
We thought it’d be fun if Nala decorated an existing frame. She picked out a silver 5X7 frame and glued pompoms on it. We used the pompoms from our DIY Pencil Case Challenge. We cut the gift bag to fit her frame and used it as the backing, and used her greeting card as the photo.
Mia’s (age 10) Picture Frame
Total Spent: $2.50
What She Bought
- Foam Board
- Wrapping Paper
- Greeting Card
What Mia Made
Mia was very clever and cut and measured foam board to create a frame from scratch. She cut out a frame from the front, and a solid backing. Wrapping both pieces in gift wrapping paper, she wedged the greeting card inside.
Mom’s (age old) Picture Frame
Total Spent: $3.00
What She Bought
- 2 Pillows
- 2 Greeting Cards
What Mom Made
I had the girls pick out a greeting card, and I cut out each character and framed them with construction paper squares. I cut out a hole in the back of the pillow to use as the frame.
We had a great time with this episode! I had the hardest time not knowing what to do. If you missed our other two episodes please check them out below and subscribe. See you next time!
