Monster’s Inc. Family Halloween Costumes
Video Tutorials for Monster’s Inc. Family Halloween Costumes
Every Halloween we come up with a family costumes. This year, I want to share one of my favorites, our Monster’s Inc. Family Halloween Costumes.
Sulley: Hey, Mike, this might sound crazy but I don’t think that kid’s dangerous.
Mike: Really? Well, in that case, let’s keep it. I always wanted a pet that could kill me.
Monster’s Inc., (2001)
Monster’s Inc. is one of my favorite animated movies ever. I must have seen it over two dozen times. Now, It’s on TV all the time because of Halloween and I love it.
I wanted to share all my tutorials in one place to make it easy, so this is my round up of five posts.
I’m not going to lie, it was tough getting this family photo… and this one isn’t even that good! We must have taken a million photos.
James P. Sullivan (Sulley)
This costume is Disneybound inspired. It’s one you can use for both kids and adults and it’s comfortable to wear to Disney or to school during a Halloween party. I altered a thrift store hoodie that is meant to be worn just a few times. I say this because it is no sew.

Mike Wazowski
Also from a thrift store, I upcycled a green t-shirt for my husband. This costume was meant to be comfortable and easy for my husband to walk around and go trick or treating with the kids.

Boo
My 19-month-old daughter was perfect for this costume. In fact, she was the reason we picked this family Halloween costume theme. Her outfit was from clothes she already had plus some warm sweatpants for trick or treating.
The tutorial is for Little Mikey, Boo’s stuffed animal in the movie. I made her trick or treat pail into Mikey so it was both fitting to our theme and useful.

Celia Mae
My costume is Celia Mae, Mike Wazowski’s girlfriend. This one is the most elaborate, but definitely fun. I made it simple and comfortable enough for me to wear while trick or treating with the kids.
The tutorial is for the headpiece and eye. I also give suggestions for what to wear in the full tutorial.

Roz
“Roz, my tender, oozing blossom, you’re looking fabulous today. Is that a new haircut? Come on, tell me it’s a new haircut, isn’t it? It’s got to be a new haircut. New makeup? You had a lift? You had a tuck? You had something? Something has been inserted in in you that makes you look… Listen, I need a favor. Randall was working late last night out on the scare floor. I really need the key to the door he was using.” – Mike Wazowski
What is a Monster’s Inc. theme without Roz? I had to include her so I made my older daughter’s trick or treat pail into her head. With a little paper Mache, it worked out. I’m not the best painter but it looks like her!
