Repurposed Brooch DIY Cell Phone Case
I FINALLY bought the new iphone 5S (of course when the 6 is coming out soon), and I just HAD to get the Rose Gold color. I love it! My only problem is that I needed a case and most of them covered the color. I bought a clear case, but it’s so boring! SOOOO, I ended up making a Repurposed Brooch DIY Cell Phone Case from an old piece of jewelry I had.
Materials:
- Clear Cell Phone Case
- Rhinestones
- Rhinestone Ribbon (optional)
- Brooch, pin, or earring
- Pliers
- Scissors
- Strong Bonding Agent
Here is the plain case… BORING!!!
Here is my phone… PRETTY!
I have had this brooch for YEARS… possibly over 10, and I have never worn it. I think I forgot about it until I had this idea.
I removed the pin with pliers. Surprisingly it took little to no effort to remove it.
I used an adhesive rhinestone ribbon, which made this so easy! Otherwise, if you’d like you can add each rhinestone one by one using tweezers you can.
Next, I used Liquid Fusion to add the remaining rhinestones as well as the brooch. I let it dry for four hours. So far so good! I’ve even accidentally dropped it! You could also try using E6000 which I have used for several projects and works well.
Here is the final! I think it turned out great. You can see the gold, and I can see a pretty brooch that otherwise would have staying in my closet for another 10 years! This would make a fun personalized gift idea as well.
It is s o darling! Way to go!
Thank you Susie!
This is so cool-I need one of these for my phone
