Rubber Band Inspiration Board DIY
I am so honored to be sponsored by Alliance Rubber Company! Today I wanted to share a step by step tutorial on how to make a stenciled rubber band inspiration board. With just a few craft materials and some colorful Super-Size Bands from rubberband.com, you can do this Rubber Band Inspiration Board DIY.
Materials:
- 16” X 20” White Canvas
- Spray Paint
- Craft Paint
- Stencils of choice
- Spouncer
- Small Paper Plate
- Super-Size Bands
- Towels
Step One:
I chose a Citrus Green spray paint to paint my blank canvas. It’s quicker, easier, and dries faster than other paints. You can also opt for any other paint as well. Be sure to protect your surroundings and spray in a well-ventilated area.
Step Two:
I decided to stencil “inspire” on my board because I wanted to hang it in my craft room. I worked backwards when stenciling the word with a spouncer. You need very little acrylic craft paint when stenciling. Dab on the paint and remove the excess by dabbing it on the paper plate. Stencil in an up and down motion to avoid bleeding.
Step Three:
Once the paint is dry, begin adding your super-size bands. I chose two alternating colors. When adding the bands also alter them horizontally and vertically. This will “weave” the rubber bands together and will come in handy when adding things to your inspiration board. You can choose how many rubber bands you would like to use. Mine is four vertical and three horizontal. Consider covering the entire board!
Here are a couple AFTER photos.
The super-size bands will fit larger canvases as well for larger boards. They come in red, blue, and green. A big THANK YOU goes out to Alliance Rubber Company for sponsoring this post. Visit them for a wide variety of rubber bands for almost any craft project!
