No Sew Photo Pencil Case
How to make a no sew photo pencil case, a simple back to school craft for kids.
Summer is almost over and school is just around the corner. What better way to commemorate your summer memories with a photo pencil case you can bring to school. Print your summer memories with your HP Sprocket and change out the pictures as you wish. Here is how to make this simple no sew felt pencil case.
Time: 30-40 Minutes
Materials:
- HP Sprocket Photos
- Felt (2 colors)
- Fabric Scissors
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Velcro
Instructions:
A standard 9X12 sheet of felt is perfect for this project. Fold this sheet in thirds to create your pencil case. Use hot glue to glue down the two sides. Make sure that the flap is wide enough for your photos. Use Velcro on the inside of the flap.
Next, print your favorite summer memories with your HP Sprocket. Do not remove the sticky back. This way, you can interchange the photos on your pencil case as you wish.
Cut another piece of felt in a contrasting color for the top of your pencil case flap. Lay two of your Sprocket photos on the flap to use as a guide for placement and trace them with pencil. Use your ruler to help you create the rectangles. Note that you want the rectangles to be slightly smaller than the Sprocket photos so that the photo will stay in place. Cut out the rectangles.
Center the felt windows onto the top flap of your pencil case and use hot glue to glue down the center, bottom, and sides of the windows. Keep the top open. Insert your Sprocket photos into the windows from the top.
These would make great handmade gifts to give to your friends when you go back to school! You can also use them for make-up brushes for when you travel.
