Trash To Treasure

Repurposed Vintage Door Knob

Easy Repurposed Vintage Door Knob Ideas

One of my most favorite things to do is to go flea market shopping. You never know what you will find.  On my most recent visit to an antique swap meet, I found some beautiful vintage door knobs.  I try to go a few times a year with my family.  You could walk around for hours and still miss a ton of cool stuff.  You can find retro furniture, vintage toys and clothing, and antique jewelry to name a few. These inspired me to make this simple repurposed vintage door knob photo holder that is perfect for your photos or other things.

Repurposed Vintage Door Knob Photo Holder

Time: 5 Minutes (Does not include dry time)

Materials:

  • Vintage Door Knobs
  • Metal Clips
  • E6000

Instructions:

This project is so simple that there is only one easy step!  Simply, glue a metal clip to the door knob stem with an industrial strength glue like E6000.  Allow the glue to dry overnight.

Tip: Prop up the knob onto a small box so that it remains level and flat and the clip will stay on straight.

While you are waiting for the glue to dry print out your favorite pictures directly from your smartphone or tablet using a portable printer.  Just download the app onto your phone, connect to Bluetooth, and in seconds you have adorable mini photos that you can peel and stick anywhere.  Display your photos on this simple to make photo holder or use the stickers to make cards or personalize a notebook. Use them on a locker folder or make a one of a kind photo craft.

Here is a quick video tutorial I made:

This little repurposed photo display is perfect for holding small photos like. You can also use it to hold memos on a desk, as place card holders at the dinner table while entertaining, holding recipes while cooking, or to hold food labels or signs at a party or wedding.

The possibilities are endless!

Vintage door knobs are so beautiful. There are two ot three in my granny’s house that are just staing in one of the kitchen drawers for years… My mother couldn’t throw them just like that. I think she’ll be very glad to repurpose them this way. Thank you for the clever idea 🙂
